As veteran music educators the three members of Outside Pedestrian are dedicated to their cause.  Their clinics are designed to inspire participants to leave their comfort zones and embrace new ideas about the history, ideas, theory and art of music: a unique experience for educators and students alike.

“What is Jazz?”

An interactive conversation about the past, present, future and characteristics of what has often been called America’s most indigenous art form.

“Pushing the Boundaries of Contemporary Music”

Do rock, metal, punk and other contemporary styles of music have a place in the classroom?  Can educators help their students become better jazz musicians by encouraging them to incorporate eclectic influences?  These are some of the questions we tackle in discussion about the future of music education.

Performance workshops

Students have the opportunity to prepare a specific piece, perform it with the band and receive feedback.
