Pushing the Boundaries of Contemporary Music

Outside Pedestrian will be presenting a clinic for educators, students, professional musicians and the general public on Saturday, November 1st at Studio 88 in Aliso Viejo.   Themes covered in the presentation will include:

  • Bringing contemporary styles of music into the classroom
  • New perspectives on linking history to the future in music
  • Exploring commonalities between diverse genres of music
  • The importance of live performance in education

As veterans of the classroom, stage and recording studio, the three members of Outside Pedestrian are dedicated to helping foster an appreciation of the past, present and future of all genres of music among educators, students and audience alike.   Stay tuned for more information about this exciting event!

“RECLAIMED” marks the return of Outside Pedestrian

Outside Pedestrian is proud to announce their new release, “RECLAIMED.”

According to bassist David Lockeretz, “The record’s name refers to the fact that we are back together after a long hiatus and it also serves as the band’s mission statement. We are stirring the pot. Many music fans feel as if there’s not much to be excited about lately. Our goal is to create something that reclaims the spark of a new musical idea that comes from nowhere to capture the imagination of its audience–be it the be-bop revolution, Hendrix at Woodstock, Miles ushering in the era of electric jazz with ‘Bitches Brew’ or the punk and grunge movements. By mixing elements of historical musical styles such as jazz, be-bop and blues with metal and noise, we strive to take the best of the last century in music and take it in an unpredictable new direction.”

“RECLAIMED” will be available worldwide on Friday, November 7th and the band’s first concert to promote the new record will take place that day at College of the Desert, Indian Wells, CA.

Stay tuned for more updates about “Reclaimed!”
